Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may
not so much seek
to be consoled
as to console;
to be understood
as to understand;
to be loved
as to love.
For it is in giving
that we receive;
it is in pardoning
that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying
that we are born to eternal life.
This prayer of St. Francis from the thirteenth century is very close to my heart. It resonates in my being very deeply. It conveys the essence of who I aspire to be. I have been listening to the version of it sung by Cecilia, over and over again since I bought her CD on the I Can Do It cruise, hosted by Hay House, that I had the pleasure of going on about a month ago. It is speaking to me and elevating my thoughts. It is reminding me of why I am here; of my life's purpose. I am deeply humbled and grateful for this beautiful reminder. I wanted to share it with you here in the hopes that it would inspire you as well.
Blessings,
Elara

It's a beautiful prayer, I can see why you are inspired!

Lovely prayer. What cd? That prayer in song would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe CD is called Amazing Grace; it is sung by Cecilia. You could check either www.hayhouse.com or www.ceciliasings.com for it. She has a beautiful angelic voice. You would love to listen to her!
